Dreaming Alone
"Your Dream Never Meant Anything"
A double entendre that successfully ruined my life... twice.
Cliché? Yeah, I know.
Have you ever had the same nightmare over and over again?
You tried telling someone, hoping they’d listen, but instead, they just replied:
"Your dream never meant anything."
Man, they are so wrong.
Nightmares mean something.
I was burning out and getting stressed without realizing it.
Within just one week, my body gave up.
Pain everywhere. Backache, flu, sore throat, fatigue... all at once.
Turns out, my body was screaming:
"TAKE A FREAKING REST!"
And what did I do?
Worked even harder, obviously.
The second time?
It was about a dream I’ve been holding on to for years.
A business I’ve always wanted to build.
And guess what someone said?
"Your dream never meant anything."
They didn’t even try to validate my feelings.
Yes, I've been through that.
And trust me, it felt like hell.
Coming back from that? It takes forever.
After those two moments, I realized something:
We are all, or at least I am, dreaming alone.
Your dream belongs to you. Everyone else? They're busy chasing their own.
A hard note to self (and maybe to anyone reading this):
Never attach your dream to anyone else.
Your dream is only yours.
"Even your partner or lover?"
HARD YES.
I’ve learned (and relearned) this the hard way.
I’ve seen people I love bury their dreams for years just because others called them stupid...
Only to eventually come back to those same dreams later.
Dreams never really die.
Bury them, and they’ll return — just in a different form: regret.
